What Does ChatGPT Say When Customers Ask About Your Brand?
Your customers have gone from browsing to asking AI assistants what to buy.
For one of our clients, AI used to say: "I would personally lean towards something else". Now, it says: "arguably one of the strongest options currently available."
A few changes to how the site presents itself to AI tools made all the difference. The products stayed the same, but the visibility improved.
Most brands have never checked how AI sees and recommends them. As an ECB reader, you can find out in seconds. Enter your URL and get your free AI Visibility Score below.

Stop Trusting Your Star Ratings: Why 98% of Shoppers Still Leave Your Store
Your 5-star reviews tell you why people bought. But what about the 98% who didn't?

We also look at how simple pre-purchase surveys can reveal buying intent, hidden friction, and the reasons shoppers choose a competitor.

☕ CLAUS'S TAKE
(One opinion. One lesson. One action.)
More traffic won’t fix your Shopify store. The right traffic will.
Here’s a number that caught my attention: AI-referred traffic to Shopify stores grew 632% year over year.
That sounds great. More traffic, right?
Not so fast.
Getting more visitors won’t fix a weak offer, poor product pages, or a store that doesn’t convert. The game is shifting from getting more traffic to getting the right traffic.
So what would I focus on?
Build content around the questions your customers actually ask. Make your brand easy for ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI tools to understand. Build an email list you can reach without paying for every click. And use paid traffic to scale what already works.
My take: Stop chasing sessions. Start building demand.
Pick one traffic source and give it 30 days. Track revenue, not clicks.
And one question for you: Are you tracking how much traffic is coming from AI search yet?
Hit reply with YES or NO. I read every response.

Coffee’s almost gone, so I’ll leave you there. I’ll be back Thursday with more ecommerce news worth your time.
