The Biggest Accounting Mistake in Ecommerce (And How to Fix It)
Most ecommerce brands think they know their numbers.
They don't.
Hidden fees, bad data, and inaccurate books can quietly destroy your margins.
This week, I sat down with Webgility CEO Parag Mamnani to discuss why AI isn't enough, how SKU-level data uncovers your true profitability, and the accounting mistakes that cost brands thousands.
If you sell on Shopify, Amazon, or across multiple channels, don't miss this one.

☕ CLAUS'S TAKE
(One opinion. One lesson. One action.)
The Checkout Upgrade That Can Lift Sales by 20%
Most merchants think Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) is a customer perk.
It's not.
It's a sales tool.
If you're only looking at it as another payment option, you're missing the point.
Here's the number: Research from the National Bureau of Economic Research found merchants can increase sales by up to 20% after adding BNPL. Other studies show higher conversion rates, larger average order values, and fewer abandoned carts.
Why? Simple.
Customers don't suddenly have more money.
They have less friction at checkout.
Breaking a $240 purchase into four $60 payments makes the decision feel easier—even if the total price stays exactly the same.
The winners?
Higher conversion rates.
Bigger carts.
More first-time buyers.
Fewer abandoned checkouts.
But here's where many brands get it wrong...
BNPL doesn't fix a weak product, high shipping costs, or a confusing checkout.
It amplifies what's already there.
A great shopping experience gets even better.
A bad one is still bad.
The brands seeing the biggest gains aren't treating BNPL as a payment feature.
They're treating it as part of their conversion strategy.
👉 Your move: If your average order value is above $75, run a 30-day test. Track conversion rate, average order value, repeat purchases, and profit—not just revenue. If you're not measuring the impact, you're just guessing.
Here is my question to you: Have you added Buy Now, Pay Later to your store yet?
