🚨 HOW EFFECTIVE ARE UPSELLS AND CROSS-SELLS IN 2024?
Upselling and cross-selling are tried-and-true strategies for boosting sales. When you're asked "Would you like fries with that?" or offered a larger size, that's an upsell or cross-sell. The goal is to encourage customers to spend more money per transaction.
But do these tactics still work in 2024 when they've been around for ages? The data says yes! Around 44% of SaaS companies get at least 10% more revenue from upsells and cross-sells. For ecommerce retailers, between 10-30% of average order value comes from upselling.
The most effective upselling channels are email marketing, phone calls for high-ticket items, and website or social media offers for lower-priced products. Popular upsell methods include bundling products together, incentives like free shipping, and leveraging AI for personalized product recommendations based on customer behavior.
In fact, AI is making upselling and cross-selling even more powerful. The majority of sellers believe AI will make it much easier to automate and personalize these revenue-boosting tactics in the future. Consumers are also receptive, with many interested in AI-powered product suggestions and copywriting.
